Investment Associate, Vice President, or Director - Energy & Infrastructure Private Capital

About the Role

A leading Private Capital fund based in Houston, TX, is expanding its investment team by seeking an Investment Associate, Vice President, or Director. This firm is well-established for its investments across the Energy, Power, Utilities, and Infrastructure (PUI), as well as the Energy Transition sectors throughout North America. Their flexible platform allows them to invest through both equity and credit across various capital structures, engaging in complex and impact-driven transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive origination and business development to identify and assess new investment opportunities.
• Manage the full transaction process from initial evaluation to closing.
• Design and negotiate investment frameworks to maximize returns while controlling risks.
• Conduct thorough financial modelling and valuations, prepare investment committee documentation, and confidently present recommendations to senior leaders.
• Oversee portfolio investments by collaborating closely with management teams to enhance operational performance and foster long-term value creation.
• Support portfolio company strategy and ongoing asset management activities.
• Mentor and develop junior investment team members, promoting a cooperative and high-achieving team environment.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree is required; possessing an MBA from a prestigious institution is a strong advantage.
• Relevant experience in private equity, private credit, infrastructure investing, investment banking, or investment management.
• At least 3 years of experience without an MBA or a minimum of 1 year with an MBA.
• Proven expertise in the Energy, Power & Utilities, Infrastructure, and/or Energy Transition sectors.
• Advanced skills in financial modelling and valuation.
• Strong analytical and commercial judgment along with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
• Exceptional written and oral communication abilities, capable of presenting investment recommendations with confidence.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Effective at managing multiple projects in fast-paced, deadline-driven settings.
• A team-oriented mindset balanced with the confidence to operate independently as required.
