Job description
About the Role
An early-stage venture capital firm investing in consumer brands is looking to add an Investment Associate to its Manhattan team. The fund backs category-defining businesses across food, beverage, household, and lifestyle, and this position is intended for someone who wants real investor responsibility from the outset rather than a purely support-oriented role.
What You’ll Do
- Identify promising early-stage consumer brand opportunities before they become widely known in the market.
- Create and nurture connections with founders, operators, and other participants in the consumer ecosystem.
- Perform investment diligence, covering both financial modeling and qualitative assessment of potential portfolio companies.
- Take part in deal evaluation and contribute to internal investment conversations and decisions.
- Work alongside portfolio companies after investment and provide ongoing support.
- Monitor new consumer trends and develop well-grounded opinions on brand strength and future potential.
Experience and Fit
- 1–3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management consulting, or another highly analytical environment.
- Solid quantitative and financial analysis capabilities.
- Authentic enthusiasm for consumer brands, with the ability to spot emerging trends and form a thoughtful view on brand direction.
- Confidence in cold outreach and relationship-building with new contacts.
- Curious, self-motivated, and adaptable in a fast-paced setting.
- Must be able to work from the Manhattan office four days each week.
Compensation
Pay is competitive and aligned with market levels for the role and experience band.
Application Instructions
Applicants should submit a short note of interest that names one early-stage consumer brand they would recommend for investment and explains the rationale. The hiring process is already underway and is expected to progress quickly.
