About the Company
Our client ranks among Europe's premier investors in small-cap funds and leads the market in securing and launching first-time fund investments. With a steadfast commitment to private equity spanning multiple strategies—including primary and secondary fund investments as well as direct co-investments—the firm has engaged in complex transactions ranging from launching new funds to overseeing intricate restructurings and time-sensitive co-investments. The firm is recognized as a favored co-investor and actively participates in buy-side deals across Europe.
Role Overview
Operating from Berlin and covering Europe broadly, this role centers on evaluating and executing opportunities in fund investments and direct co-investments, often working closely in a hybrid role with the General Partners involved. The position offers deep exposure to commercial and operational transaction aspects and provides a unique chance to develop a robust network within an expert team.
Key Responsibilities
- Establishing and nurturing partnerships with top private equity managers to source primary and secondary fund investments along with co-investment deals
- Performing thorough due diligence on funds and their portfolio companies by analyzing core business drivers to uncover alpha potential
- Overseeing portfolio management through KPIs, engagement in annual meetings, and constructively challenging managers on key governance and advisory matters
- Actively contributing ideas, investment insights, and process improvements within the team
Candidate Profile
- Personable and relationship-oriented, thriving in an international setting
- Sharp commercial insight combined with a genuine passion for private equity
- Entrepreneurial spirit with strong communication capabilities
- Advanced financial modeling skills coupled with analytical problem-solving aptitude
- Professional experience in investment banking, strategy consulting, or private equity
