Job description

About the Role

Join a dynamic finance platform dedicated to investing in sustainable infrastructure and tangible assets that yield consistent returns while generating measurable community impact. The organization leads with an investment-centric approach to execute complex transactions, producing long-term value through sustainable assets such as distributed generation and utility-scale renewable power, transportation, and efficiency projects. As the company expands its scalable investments in the energy transition sector, it seeks an Investment Analyst to join its compact, rapidly growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preliminary screening and commercial assessments of new investment prospects involving distributed solar, battery storage, and other renewable energy projects.
  • Develop and update detailed transaction-level financial models, encompassing partnership flip structures, special-purpose vehicle (SPV) cash flow waterfalls, pricing mechanisms, and sensitivity analyses for returns and downside risks.
  • Evaluate sponsor financial models by applying internal benchmarks and market data to key assumptions to ensure pricing accuracy.
  • Assist in deal execution by organizing data gathering and processing, conducting due diligence, composing significant sections of investment committee memos, and preparing presentation materials.
  • Carry out in-depth market and policy research related to U.S. clean energy tax policies, transferability markets, tax equity and partnership flip arrangements, and various state incentives influencing prospective investments.
  • Create platform-level financial models for potential co-investors and lenders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, or a closely related discipline.
  • Between one and three years of relevant experience in renewable energy project finance, infrastructure private equity, tax equity, investment banking, or a comparable analytical function.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and valuation, especially designing comprehensive cash flow models using Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, capable of managing and interpreting large datasets.
  • Exceptional attention to detail complemented by strong verbal and written communication skills, underpinned by a dedicated work ethic.
  • Capacity to thrive in a small team environment that handles multiple complex workstreams simultaneously.
  • A sincere passion for the energy transition sector and renewable energy finance.
