Position Overview

We are seeking Investment Analysts to support our Debt and Equity Production teams at our New York City office (West 31st Street). This role involves collaborating with a high-performing origination team by performing financial analysis, underwriting commercial real estate loans, preparing loan requests and investment reports, conducting due diligence, supporting transaction closings, and additional production tasks. This is a full-time, in-office role with an immediate start. Candidates must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.; sponsorship is not provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite commercial real estate properties using historical financial data, borrower projections, and market standards to estimate income and perform valuation and loan analysis.
  • Create loan request packages adhering to company and investor guidelines, including comprehensive narrative evaluations of borrowers, properties, locations, and markets, enhanced with underwriting results, valuation, lease/rent roll analysis, and visual documentation such as photos and aerial maps.
  • Manage lender outreach by compiling lender lists specific to each deal, collecting loan quotes, preparing detailed comparison matrices, and maintaining Salesforce records.
  • Coordinate loan closings by liaising with servicing teams, collecting and reviewing due diligence materials, ordering and assessing third-party reports, and reviewing lending documentation such as term sheets and commitments. Maintain open communications with borrowers, lenders, legal counsel, vendors, and internal departments as needed.
  • Conduct thorough market, borrower, and property research utilizing external and internal data sources, including ownership records, transaction histories, demographics, and comparative sales/rent data. Engage in continuous lead generation activities under the guidance of senior leadership.
  • Deliver exceptional client service by providing prompt, professional, and high-quality support to lenders, borrowers, and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; preferred majors include real estate, finance, economics, accounting, or business.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial analysis and/or underwriting within commercial real estate capital markets.
  • Preferred familiarity with agency lending and underwriting standards, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, as well as an understanding of various commercial real estate property types.
  • Strong analytical aptitude for cash flow analysis and proficiency calculating metrics such as NOI, DSC, ROC, and IRR.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, capable of professional interaction with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with Salesforce, ARGUS, and InDesign is advantageous.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities, effective multitasking under pressure, and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Self-motivated and resourceful with the capacity to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Dedicated work ethic and willingness to commit to extended working hours when necessary.

Compensation and Benefits
