Role summary
The position focuses on handling a portfolio of claims from start to finish. A large part of the job involves active communication with stakeholders, including giving updates and explaining outcomes over the phone in relation to claim progress.
While prior experience in insurance or claims handling is preferred, it is not essential. Applications are also welcome from strong customer service, retail or call-centre professionals who are keen to learn insurance fundamentals on the job and want to develop a long-term career in the sector.
The internal title for this role is Internal Claims Adjuster. Similar titles may include Claims Consultant, Claims Manager, Claims Handler or Claims Assessor.

Core responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of claims through the full lifecycle
- Support policyholders and guide them through the claims process
- Review claim documents, policy wording, endorsements, client instructions and related records to assess coverage
- Investigate claims by analysing damage information, speaking with claimants and comparing submitted details against supporting evidence
- Establish loss reserves and revise them when circumstances change
- Compile reports by gathering and summarising relevant information
- Finalise claims once the insurer’s liability has been established
