Overview
This seasonal internship offers hands-on experience with the Miami HEAT, focusing on managing and activating corporate partnership accounts. Interns will work closely with the Corporate Partnership Marketing Service & Sales Team to deliver exceptional client service and assist in creating engaging marketing activations and retention programs. The part-time internship runs from September 21st through the end of the 2026-2027 Miami HEAT regular season and is located in Miami, Florida.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the activation and execution of assigned sponsorship accounts, ensuring all contractual assets are delivered while maintaining high levels of customer service.
- Coordinate and manage game day and non-game day events, including pre-game parties, suite reservations, and interactive displays setup and teardown.
- Assist with operational tasks on game days such as suite walkthroughs and setup requirements.
- Manage corporate gifting programs and inventory control.
- Coordinate arena signage and vendor installations.
- Handle various administrative duties like answering phones, attending planning meetings, maintaining schedules, and compiling proof of performance materials for presentations.
- Assist with onboarding processes for new sponsors, including preparing welcome packages and maintaining sponsor communications.
- Support the sales team by aiding renewal and new business efforts, as well as creating recap presentations and sales pitch decks.
- Gather and analyze market research and digital media data, sharing insights with sales teams and partners.
- Provide professional and timely client service and response.
- Accurately track and analyze monthly corporate sales orders.
- Prepare and process client documentation and partnership summary reports.
- Conduct prospect and current partner research to support business development.
- Maintain ongoing client engagement and identify additional opportunities.
- Be available for all Miami HEAT home games for on-site support.
- Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college, ideally in Sport Management or a related discipline.
- At least one year of work or internship experience involving client, agency, or corporate service.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to build relationships.
- Proactive, goal-driven attitude with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively, managing multiple projects, schedules, budgets, and clients concurrently.
- Strong time management skills and capacity to work extended hours to meet objectives.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Capability to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Spanish language skills are a plus.
