About the Role

The Miami HEAT is seeking a dedicated storyteller to join their team as a full-time Basketball Content Producer. This individual will work closely with the coaching staff and Basketball Operations department, focusing on creating internal video content such as motivational segments, film session aids, milestone celebrations, and educational tools. The position requires a passion for basketball strategy and operations and a commitment to delivering impactful video content within the team environment. This role does not involve creating social media content and is exclusively designed to serve internal team needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Embed deeply within the Basketball Operations team by attending and filming all team practices, workouts, shootarounds, and player development activities.
  • Handle all sensitive team video materials with complete confidentiality; content is strictly for internal use and not for public release.
  • Lead the ideation, planning, development, and production of video materials required by coaching staff in close collaboration with Basketball Operations personnel.
  • Produce, film, and edit motivational and supportive videos for coaches and players, often delivering results within tight deadlines such as same-day or overnight turnarounds.
  • Create internal videos for game preparations, film review sessions, and significant moments throughout the season alongside the Basketball Operations unit.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with Content, Creative, and Marketing teams, sharing sensitive Basketball Operations information securely.
  • Set up and manage various production equipment including cameras, audio-video recorders, and lighting for in-studio and on-location shoots.
  • Conduct extensive research and retrieve footage from the Miami HEAT archives to produce inspirational and historical video content.
  • Hold a valid US Passport and be prepared for domestic and international travel as needed, including team travel.
  • Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, adhering to the NBA’s demanding schedule and deadlines.
  • Utilize basic software tools such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and Photoshop for office-related tasks.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Basketball Content.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, sports management, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 to 4 years of professional experience with a professional or collegiate sports team or sports brand.
  • Extensive expertise in video and audio shooting and editing techniques.
  • Strong and comprehensive knowledge of basketball, the Miami HEAT's history and current events, and NBA storylines.
  • Excellent writing, creative, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to the around-the-clock demands of Miami HEAT events and operations.
  • Self-motivated with sharp attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, capable of working independently and collaboratively, and skilled in relationship building and communication.
  • Proficiency in photography and Adobe Photoshop would be advantageous.
