Install Technician - Infrastructure Delivery at AWS

About the Role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Delivery is responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating the expansive global AWS infrastructure that supports compute, storage, networking, power, and cooling systems across data centers worldwide. This essential network backbone ensures continuous availability and innovation for AWS customers. The team operates within a highly complex, fast-paced environment managing supply chain, deployment, operational readiness, and infrastructure scaling challenges while maintaining strong focus on execution quality, resiliency, and customer experience.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of software and hardware engineers, network specialists, security experts, and operations personnel committed to building scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure. Thriving in this role demands a high degree of ownership, collaboration across diverse groups, and rigorous prioritization of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Support deployment and expansion of next-generation network infrastructure across AWS global data centers.
• Perform rack installations, structured cabling, hardware setup, system validation, and troubleshooting with accuracy and safety consciousness.
• Collaborate closely with Network Engineering, Operations, Security, and Logistics teams to execute infrastructure builds efficiently.
• Operate autonomously within mission-critical environments, maintaining strong attention to detail and ownership of tasks.
• Proactively identify risks, uphold safety and quality standards, and consistently deliver high-quality operational outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware components.
• Practical knowledge of computer networking including TCP/IP protocols.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Understanding of cloud computing concepts.
• Familiarity with fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing tools, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Understanding of network design, protocols, and Layer 1 and 2 troubleshooting methods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience handling customer interactions during problem resolution and performing effectively under pressure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Further expertise with server hardware components.
