Overview
Miller International, Inc., the creator of Cinch4 and Cruel Girl4, is expanding its Denver, Colorado office with an opening for a Business Systems Analyst. This role acts as a crucial interface between business users and technical teams, transforming business requirements into scalable technology solutions. The candidate will focus on analyzing processes, collecting requirements, and collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to advance enhancements and operational efficiencies. A significant part of this position involves developing Power BI reports and executing SQL-based data analytics for enterprise-wide reporting and decision support, particularly leveraging the BlueCherry ERP and Microsoft Dynamics platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with management to identify operational challenges, suggest process improvements, and propose technology-based solutions.
- Collect, document, and validate detailed business, functional, and technical requirements.
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI assets including reports, dashboards, KPIs, data models, DAX formulas, and Power Query transformations.
- Create, optimize, and manage SQL queries, views, and stored procedures to facilitate data extraction, validation, and reporting.
- Develop operational and analytical reports drawing from BlueCherry ERP, gaining proficiency with its architecture and reporting capabilities.
- Contribute to the migration effort from on-premises Microsoft Dynamics to Dynamics 365 cloud, ensuring consistent reporting, thorough data validation, and supporting API integrations with BlueCherry.
- Produce and update process flows, business requirements documents, functional specs, user stories, and system manuals.
- Serve as the communication bridge between business users, developers, vendors, and technical teams across solution deployment phases.
- Support enterprise-level application rollouts, upgrades, system integrations, and feature enhancements.
- Work alongside technical teams on integrations, system interfaces, workflow automations, and reporting improvements.
- Lead or assist with user acceptance testing, defect tracking, validation, as well as release planning and post-deployment support.
- Analyze existing business procedures and advocate for enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Implement and govern Power BI security features including row-level and object-level security, workspace roles, and app permissions in accordance with established standards.
- Drive initiatives focused on data governance, quality assurance, and process standardization.
- Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and discussions that promote project progress.
- Provide training, documentation, and user support as necessary.
- Monitor system performance and coordinate with support groups to address issues and optimize user experience.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business systems analysis, data analysis, product ownership, or related roles.
- Proven expertise in gathering and documenting comprehensive business and functional requirements.
- Hands-on experience supporting enterprise applications or business intelligence platforms.
- Strong skills in business process analysis and applying process improvement methodologies.
- At least 3 years of advanced experience in Power BI development including data modeling, DAX, and Power Query/M scripting, alongside adeptness in complex SQL querying (joins, CTEs, window functions, query tuning).
- Ability to quickly adapt and comprehend unfamiliar ERP data models; prior exposure to BlueCherry (CGS) is an asset but not mandatory.
- Experience facilitating testing cycles such as UAT and managing production deployments.
- Exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Capable of juggling multiple tasks effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Preferred additional experience includes ERP, CRM, PLM, Supply Chain, Retail, Finance, Procurement, Inventory, or Manufacturing systems.
- Strong preference given for candidates experienced with Microsoft Dynamics 365, particularly in contexts involving reporting, data migration, or API integrations from on-premises Dynamics systems to the cloud.
- Experience with QuickBooks considered beneficial.
- Familiarity with system integrations, APIs, ETL workflows, and data migration projects.
- Knowledge of other BI/reporting tools like SSRS or Tableau is advantageous.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) are a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server/T-SQL, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI deployment pipelines, or the broader Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).
- Proven ability to collaborate with third-party vendors and implementation partners.
- Awareness of data governance and data quality best practices.
- Experience in retail, apparel, consumer goods, manufacturing, or distribution sectors is beneficial.
Additional Information
This role requires on-site presence in the company's Denver, Colorado office. The annual salary ranges between $80,000 and $100,000.
