Role Overview
This United States-based position focuses on enhancing enterprise security by advancing methods in insider threat detection, risk analytics, and governance of investigative processes. The Insider Threat Insights Expert will transform complex risk data into practical insights that aid informed decision-making and reinforce organizational defenses. Collaboration with cybersecurity, compliance, privacy, legal, and risk teams will be essential to build robust frameworks and controls. This role combines analytical skills, investigative knowledge, and governance experience within a collaborative setting, aiming to boost risk identification, investigative quality, and maturity of security programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and update insider threat risk assessment models, scoring systems, and indicators to detect, rank, and escalate potential risks.
- Work closely with risk, compliance, privacy, legal, and cybersecurity teams to ensure insider threat efforts align with enterprise risk management strategies.
- Develop and sustain investigative governance standards covering case intake, prioritization, escalation protocols, and documentation.
- Perform quality assurance reviews on investigations to maintain consistency, compliance, defensibility, and facilitate continuous improvements.
- Design and maintain metrics, dashboards, and reporting tools to track investigative success, case quality, program development, and risk trends.
- Interpret operational and business risks into measurable indicators, controls, and governance methods that inform decision-making.
- Recommend enhancements for detection and investigation processes based on data-driven insights for operational efficiency.
- Support program maturity by identifying improvements in controls, workflows, and stakeholder collaboration.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years in insider threat, cybersecurity, fraud, investigation, compliance, risk management, or related analytical areas.
- Proficiency in developing risk models, scoring mechanisms, analytical frameworks, or indicators for risk identification and prioritization.
- Experience in supporting governance, quality assurance, audit, or operational oversight within risk-centric environments.
- Deep understanding of investigative workflows, cybersecurity principles, enterprise risk management, and control frameworks.
- Proven ability to collaborate with diverse teams, including Risk, Compliance, Privacy, Legal, HR, and Security.
- Strong analytical capabilities to decipher complex data, recognize patterns, and translate findings into actionable strategies.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with insider threat programs, employee risk management, fraud investigations, or cybersecurity operations preferred.
- Capability to work autonomously, manage priorities effectively, and perform in a fully remote environment.
