Job description

Role overview

UBT is hiring an Influencer & Community Marketing Executive for its trade and DIY business. The position is based in Birmingham with a remote working setup and travel as needed. This is a relationship-led, hands-on marketing role focused on building a lively, authentic community around the brand and helping it grow across the trade and DIY market.

Package and working pattern

The salary on offer is £30,000 to £35,000 plus bonus. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, with flexibility available, although attendance at a daily 8:15am huddle is required. Annual leave is 24 days plus statutory holidays, and 4 of those days must be taken during the Christmas shutdown.

About the business

This is a fast-growing, entrepreneurial chemical manufacturer with a strong national retail footprint and millions of social impressions already behind it. The company is focused on expanding further over the next few years by developing a genuine network of brand supporters, influencers, tradespeople, and DIY advocates. The team is described as young, energetic, collaborative, and full of personality.

What the role involves

You will act as a visible representative of the brand within influencer, trade, and DIY communities. The job blends community building, content creation, field activity, and relationship management, with close links to both marketing and sales.

  • Develop and expand a network of influencers, tradespeople, and DIY content creators.
  • Work with influencers and customers to produce engaging content.
  • Attend trade events, visit sites, and take part in networking activities on behalf of the brand.
  • Support commercial growth by strengthening relationships with customers and partners.
  • Increase engagement across social channels and campaign activity.

Key responsibilities

  • Find, approach, and maintain relationships with influencers and brand advocates.
  • Handle influencer seeding, gifting activity, campaign coordination, and regular follow-up.
  • Plan and create social content in collaboration with influencers and other contributors.
  • Visit sites, workshops, and merchant branches to capture genuine product usage in action.
  • Coordinate influencer-led events, brand experiences, and trade show presence.
  • Encourage community participation, user-generated content, and brand advocacy online.
  • Monitor performance data such as engagement, views, and influencer activity.

What they are looking for

The right person will be outgoing, confident, and naturally strong at building long-term relationships. You should either have experience working with influencers, communities, or brand ambassadors, or show a clear and genuine interest in the trade, construction, or DIY sector. The role also requires someone who is comfortable producing content, working across social platforms, staying highly organised, managing several priorities at once, and spending time in the field meeting people and representing the brand. A commercial mindset is important, especially an understanding of how marketing contributes to sales growth.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to join a business with ambitious growth plans and strong progression potential.
  • Freedom to help shape influencer strategy and content direction.
  • A varied role combining fieldwork, content creation, and relationship management.
  • A young, energetic, and highly collaborative team culture.
  • Competitive pay, bonus after probation, and a flexible working setup.

Additional information

This role is described as ideal for someone who enjoys active, visible, people-focused marketing rather than a desk-only environment. Travel is expected as part of the job so that you can attend sites, workshops, merchant branches, trade events, and brand activations.
