Role overview
A packaging solutions business in Kimbolton, Cambridgeshire is looking for a seasoned Sales & Marketing Manager to bring its commercial teams together. This position sits at the centre of the company’s growth plans, with responsibility for improving revenue, protecting margin, and shaping a joined-up commercial approach across the organisation.
The person in this role will take charge of the sales operation while also building and delivering the marketing strategy. It is a chance to influence how the business grows commercially at a key stage of expansion.
Sales leadership and strategy
- Direct, support, and grow the full sales organisation, covering field sales, internal account management, and business development.
- Own sales plans, targets, budgets, and forecasts so they stay aligned with wider business goals.
- Track sales performance indicators and share findings, optimisation ideas, and performance updates with senior leadership.
- Create and roll out a sales plan that wins new business and expands existing accounts.
- Review pipeline health and use CRM tools effectively across the sales teams.
- Coach and develop team members to raise capability, performance, and engagement.
- Spot new markets, sectors, and channels that can drive growth.
- Build strong relationships with major customers to increase retention and lifetime value.
Marketing strategy and delivery
- Design and execute a multi-channel marketing plan that supports business objectives.
- Measure marketing performance and present KPIs, insights, and improvement actions to leadership.
- Work with internal stakeholders to shape new offers and improve existing propositions.
- Lead the implementation of a new website.
- Support and drive launches for new products.
- Develop the company’s brand story, keeping messaging consistent and centred on sustainability, innovation, and customer care.
Digital marketing and campaigns
- Oversee website content and updates, and lead search engine optimisation and pay-per-click activity.
- Plan, run, and evaluate social media and email campaigns end to end.
- Produce strong written content for use across different platforms.
- Test and refine campaigns regularly to improve return on investment and reduce cost per click and cost per lead.
Sales and marketing alignment
- Make sure sales and marketing work closely together to improve lead generation and conversion.
- Build lead generation activity that feeds the sales pipeline.
- Set up processes for tracking, nurturing, and converting leads through CRM.
- Carry out market, customer, and competitor research to uncover trends and opportunities.
Systems, reporting, and suppliers
- Manage and improve CRM use across both sales and marketing.
- Build dashboards and reporting structures to monitor commercial performance.
- Handle agencies and third-party suppliers efficiently and within budget.
Working arrangement and benefits
This is a full-time, permanent onsite role. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
Salary is £60,000 to £65,000 depending on experience, with an on-target earnings figure of £80,000.
Additional benefits include 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays and an employee assistance programme.

The business is based in Kimbolton, Cambridgeshire. Packaging or a related sector background is preferred, although it is not a strict requirement.
Requirements
- Background in a senior leadership role spanning sales and/or marketing.
- Proven success in building and managing high-performing sales teams.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on delivery across commercial functions.
- Strong working knowledge of digital channels such as SEO, PPC, social media, and email.
- Experience selling and marketing products in a B2B environment.
- Commercial mindset with solid analytical ability and confidence working with data.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Hands-on experience with CRM platforms such as HubSpot or similar tools.
- Excellent organisation and project management skills.
- Comfortable working independently as well as with a leadership team.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and other business systems.
- Experience in packaging or a related industry would be an advantage.
Eligibility
Applicants should be able to take on a permanent, full-time onsite position and bring the senior commercial experience needed to lead sales and marketing within a B2B product business.
