Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for an Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Technician in Qatar to support the upkeep, fault-finding, and performance tuning of control systems that keep HVAC and other mission-critical infrastructure running safely and efficiently.
Key Duties
- Set up, service, and diagnose ICS used in HVAC and building automation environments.
- Track system performance, adjust controls, and fine-tune HVAC automation to improve reliability and energy use.
- Identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and software faults in control panels, PLCs, sensors, actuators, and related ICS hardware.
- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on control equipment and HVAC assets to meet operational expectations.
- Work with engineering teams on enhancements, upgrades, and system modifications.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and system changes in line with internal and regulatory needs.
- Follow all required safety procedures, including electrical, mechanical, and industrial safety practices.
- Support and coach junior technicians and operations staff with technical guidance.
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.
- At least 5 years of dedicated experience in ICS is needed.
- Training in building automation system operation is required.
- Practical exposure to HVAC control systems, building automation systems, and industrial control platforms such as PLC, DCS, and SCADA is expected.
- Applicants should have strong working knowledge of electrical circuits, sensors, actuators, and control panel parts.
- Hands-on troubleshooting and repair experience with ICS equipment is essential.
- Experience with safety and quality practices in industrial or military settings is an advantage.
- Ability to interpret schematics, drawings, and technical manuals is necessary.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and communication skills are important.
Additional Requirements
- A valid U.S. driver’s license is mandatory.
- A valid U.S. passport is preferred.
- Candidates must satisfy the current USCENTCOM deployment policy requirements, including the APR 23 MOD Eighteen to the USCENTCOM individual and individual-unit deployment policy.
- The selected candidate must be able to secure and keep a valid Qatar residency visa.
- The role requires the ability to work in harsh conditions such as dust, high temperatures, prolonged hours, and exposure to weather and hazardous environments.
- Travel is 100% in the deployed location.
- A DoD Secret Clearance is required and must be maintained.
