About the Role and Organization
Aldar Education is searching for exceptional UAE National Inclusion Assistants to join Abdulla Bin Otaiba Charter School in Abu Dhabi, with an immediate start planned for February or March 2026. Abdulla Bin Otaiba Charter School offers an American curriculum and is a co-educational primary school located centrally in Abu Dhabi. Main Responsibilities
- Support individual pupils either alone or within groups both inside and outside the classroom to ensure their full engagement in various school activities.
- Take proactive measures related to health and safety matters within the school environment.
- Assist in implementing individual education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs, contribute to monitoring progress against IEP goals.
- Offer support to pupils with additional needs such as academic, physical, emotional, or behavioral challenges, aiding the development of their social and communication abilities.
- Help classroom and subject teachers maintain accurate pupil records.
- Prepare resources that enable students to access or differentiate the curriculum effectively, supporting their learning process.
- Encourage student independence by instructing them in clear, meaningful strategies.
- Uphold school aims and adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines, codes of conduct, and applicable regulations and policies.
- Maintain professional standards including punctuality, dress code, and attendance.
- Participate in required training sessions and meetings with professionals as needed.
- Collaborate with other specialists such as speech and occupational therapists.
- Foster strong working relationships with home room and subject teachers, maintaining regular and transparent communication.
- Perform additional duties as directed by the principal or Head of Inclusion.
Specific Duties
- Maintain confidentiality following guidelines; formal parent communications are managed by Head of Inclusion and teachers.
- Provide academic assistance through individual or group instruction prescribed by teachers.
- Demonstrate instructional activities and monitor assigned student work, checking and correcting as per school policy.
- Keep the students focused and motivated, praising achievements and reporting progress to teachers.
- Prepare necessary materials to support classroom learning and scaffold student understanding.
- Supervise students during classes, specialist lessons, and other school locations.
- Contribute to behavior policy development, promoting student self-esteem and managing misbehavior in line with school policy.
- Attend and deliver specialized interventions such as Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT), Occupational Therapy (OT), and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to maximize therapy effectiveness.
- Participate in extracurricular activities, trips, and visits.
- Experienced Inclusion Assistants may mentor newcomers, and new assistants may also engage in mentoring activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must be a UAE National holding at least a Secondary School Certificate or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Minimum of one year professional experience within UAE schools.
- Proficiency in English or the language used in the school curriculum is required.
