Role Overview
Working as a Career Coach for the Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) program in New South Wales and Queensland, you will assist people with disabilities, injuries, or health issues to prepare for and secure rewarding employment. Your role encompasses guiding clients through every stage of their employment journey, including job readiness and interview preparation, within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to develop career plans and assist them in securing suitable jobs.
- Establish strong relationships to understand each individual's goals, abilities, and support needs.
- Deliver personalized coaching and conduct regular follow-ups to keep clients motivated and progressing.
- Facilitate access to training, practical experience, and group activities to enhance client skills.
- Engage with employers and community partners to create employment and training opportunities.
- Achieve or surpass internal and external performance targets.
- Promote Breakthru’s principles of inclusion, empowerment, and person-centered care.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates possess empathy, enthusiasm, and a determination to make a positive impact. Experience or a strong interest in employment services, especially supporting individuals with disabilities or health challenges, is essential. You should excel at building trust, motivating others, and navigating a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
You’ll enjoy understanding your clients' unique circumstances and preparing them effectively for employment while also engaging with employers to match candidates with roles that suit their needs. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and professional integrity are vital in maintaining high service standards and accurate documentation.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Relevant qualifications in Employment Services or Human Services such as Mental Health, Psychology, or Social Work are preferred.
- Experience supporting people with disabilities, injuries, or health issues in employment contexts.
- Proven track record of meeting KPIs and designing client-centered employment and skills strategies.
- Confidence in promoting clients to employers and managing group programs.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Familiarity with disability legislation, support methodologies, and labor market trends.
- Current driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle are mandatory.
