IDC Risk Operations Specialist - Alibaba Cloud Intelligence (Hangzhou/Shanghai/Shenzhen)

Job Overview

This role focuses on comprehensive risk management for IDC overseas and intelligent computing projects throughout their entire lifecycle — including site selection, construction, testing, handover, and ongoing operations and maintenance. The position requires setting strict standards for inspections and performing both online and onsite checks to identify critical project risks. It is essential to drive risk governance processes with the responsible teams, ensuring timely resolution and containment of risks impacting stability and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough risk inspections combining online methods and in-person verification to detect core risks in any project segment.
• Establish and enforce risk checking mechanisms to guarantee early risk detection and oversight.
• Coordinate with relevant teams to execute risk remediation initiatives and monitor progress until closure.
• Perform root cause and attribution analysis based on identified risks, producing detailed reports explaining mechanisms and execution lapses.
• Develop and refine risk attribution models tailored to overseas and intelligent computing data centers, leveraging AI and automation to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Continuously optimize the KCP (Key Control Point) management framework to enhance project quality and compliance in overseas and intelligent cloud initiatives.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 5 years managing data centers, leading major overseas projects from site selection through design, delivery, handover, and operations.
• Strong technical expertise in data center architecture and standards, particularly electrical, HVAC, and automation systems.
• Proficient in English as the working language, with willingness and ability to travel internationally frequently.
• Skilled in identifying core risks via diverse data sources such as technical standards, management behaviors, and project documentation.
• Experience building comprehensive IDC lifecycle risk management platforms and progressively automating processes through digitalization and AI.
• Deep understanding of end-to-end data center business processes and an acute sensitivity to industry risks, capable of replicating isolated risks across the entire center lifecycle.
• Ability to lead risk attribution and remediation efforts, evaluating the commonality of risks and driving full lifecycle governance.
• Committed to ongoing industry learning, incorporating new technologies, theories, and methods into risk management practices.
• Expertise in project management including goal setting, prioritization, resource allocation, execution monitoring, deviation control, and cross-functional coordination.
• Regularly review projects to adjust priorities and rebalance resources as necessary to align with strategic goals.
• Strong skills in managing portfolios of projects to meet organizational targets and achieve strategic objectives.
