Role overview
The HVAC/CRAC Technician will support facilities in a demanding, high-tempo environment. This role calls for strong hands-on knowledge of building systems and equipment, including HVAC operations, chillers, air handling and ventilation systems, as well as structural repair support. The technician will oversee, diagnose, and bring facility systems back online, coordinate preventive maintenance and work orders, and carry out daily field inspections while assisting craftsmen with assigned tasks.
Key duties
- Oversee daily field inspections and help craftsmen with assigned maintenance and repair work.
- Diagnose issues, restore equipment operation, and support ongoing reliability of facility systems.
- Plan and schedule preventive maintenance tasks and work orders.
- Work with facility systems and equipment such as chillers, air conditioning, ventilation, and related structural repairs.
- Provide courteous support to company personnel and customer representatives.
- Respond to calls and work needs outside normal hours when required.
- Follow organizational policies and comply with safety and environmental requirements.
Education and experience
A high school diploma or GED is required. The role expects at least 5 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial or industrial HVAC/R systems, including Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) systems. EPA Universal Certification is mandatory, and the candidate must be capable of troubleshooting and repairing CRAC equipment.
Skills and knowledge
The technician should bring strong organization, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through. The position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment, excellent customer service orientation, and clear verbal and written communication. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is expected, along with knowledge of safety practices and environmental policies.
Additional requirements
- A valid U.S. driver’s license is required, and it must be kept current if operating a company vehicle.
- A valid U.S. passport is preferred.
- The candidate must be able to meet all current USCENTCOM deployment policy requirements under the referenced deployment policy update.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a valid Qatar residency visa is necessary.
- The job requires work in harsh conditions, including dust, high heat, extended hours, weather exposure, and hazardous environments.
- The candidate must be physically able to meet the OSHA lifting requirement of 50 pounds.
- Security clearance requirement: must have and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
- Travel is 100% in a deployed location.
