Overview

Senior Helpers of Baltimore & Central Maryland, Maryland’s first and only CHAP Age-Friendly Care at Home Certified agency, seeks a knowledgeable Human Resources Specialist with experience in the home care sector. This full-time, exempt position is based onsite and designed for a committed HR professional who values building outstanding teams and enhancing organizational culture in a care-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the recruitment process for caregivers and office staff, managing applicant tracking systems and coordinating interviews and orientations.
  • Develop community partnerships and improve hiring strategies based on recruiting analytics.
  • Ensure a seamless onboarding experience and coach managers on employee relations and performance management.
  • Support employee engagement, recognition, and retention efforts to foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Maintain compliance with employment laws, CHAP standards, and other regulations through diligent recordkeeping and payroll audits.
  • Manage benefits administration, HRIS records, and coordinate HR audits and policy compliance.
  • Create HR reports, dashboards, and analyses on workforce trends to support organizational development and process improvement.
  • Collaborate with leadership on workforce planning, leadership growth, and the evolution of human resources operations and systems.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum five years of human resources experience, with at least two years specifically in home care, home health, hospice, or senior living organizations.
  • Proficient in recruiting and onboarding healthcare caregivers and staff.
  • Experienced in employee relations, coaching, performance management, and HR compliance.
  • Skilled with applicant tracking systems (such as Hireology) and HRIS platforms.
  • Excellent communication abilities and well-versed in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills; reliable and approachable; proactive problem solver.
