Position summary

As a People Partner for South India, you will support employees and leaders across Maersk’s Contract Logistics and TbM operations. The role is centered on strengthening the employee experience, keeping HR operations smooth, and ensuring strong engagement and compliance. It is a practical, people-oriented position for someone who enjoys resolving issues, advising leaders, and improving the way HR processes operate.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the primary HR contact for leaders and employees across the South cluster.
  • Support teams with HR policy guidance, employee relations matters, performance discussions, and development planning.
  • Manage core HR processes such as performance reviews, compensation activities, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Assist with the implementation of new HR tools and workflows, including Workday and ServiceNow.
  • Address routine HR questions and concerns from employees and managers.
  • Work through employee relations cases and help resolve conflicts or issues in a professional manner.
  • Monitor compliance with labour laws and site-specific statutory obligations.
  • Coordinate with TPL vendors to maintain workforce availability.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Promote internal movement and growth opportunities within the organisation.

Requirements and competencies

  • At least 15 years of experience in an HRBP role.
  • Prior exposure to the logistics sector is preferred, along with practical technical understanding of the industry.
  • Strong command of Tamil, Kannada, and fluent English.
  • Hands-on experience with Excel automation tools and Power BI is an added advantage.
  • Experience in large organisations or multinational environments.
  • Strong ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
  • Capability to coach leaders, navigate change, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Clear verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work well across business teams.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and tact when handling difficult situations.
  • Positive, proactive, and solution-focused approach.
