About the Opportunity

Join a reputable and expanding construction company located in Etobicoke, Ontario, as a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP). This full-time, permanent role offers a salary range of $75,000 to $90,000 annually. The HRBP will collaborate closely with business leaders while actively managing a variety of HR functions to facilitate employee engagement, recruitment, performance management, and organizational growth. This position is embedded within a cooperative leadership environment that values Human Resources as a strategic business partner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with managers and leaders to provide both strategic insight and daily HR support.
  • Develop strong internal relationships to comprehend business objectives and workforce challenges.
  • Drive organizational expansion, workforce planning, and facilitate change management efforts.
  • Deliver hands-on HR solutions aligned with the company’s goals.
  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes for corporate, technical, and operational roles.
  • Work with hiring managers to formulate recruitment plans and execute candidate selection and onboarding.
  • Advance employer branding and optimize recruitment workflows.
  • Serve as a primary resource for employee relations, including coaching managers, conflict resolution, investigations, disciplinary actions, and ensuring policy compliance.
  • Support performance management by guiding review processes, employee development, succession planning, and leadership growth.
  • Assist with compensation evaluations, workforce planning, HR policy formation, employee engagement initiatives, health and safety, and HR compliance.
  • Maintain HR records, administer HRIS systems, coordinate with payroll, and generate HR metrics for management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CHRP certification or progress toward it is an advantage.
  • Minimum of four years of advancing experience in Human Resources.
  • In-depth understanding of Ontario employment laws.
  • Proven experience in employee relations, workplace investigations, and managing performance.
  • Familiarity with full-cycle recruitment and HRIS software, along with Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities capable of juggling multiple priorities.

Preferred Experience

  • Background supporting sectors such as construction, engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or skilled trades.
  • Experience working with multi-location teams.
  • Knowledge of unionized environments is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Experience collaborating closely with operational leaders.
