About Gemini Building Contracting

Gemini Building Contracting (GBC), based in Abu Dhabi, is a prominent company specializing in building contracting and interior fit-out projects. They are actively seeking a dedicated and skilled HSE Officer to join their expanding workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure strict adherence to UAE Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations along with Abu Dhabi's safety standards and internal company policies.
  • Perform frequent site inspections, safety audits, and risk evaluations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Develop and review Method Statements and Risk Assessments (MSRA) for project activities.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and various safety awareness training sessions for personnel.
  • Observe and enforce the implementation of safe work procedures on site.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses thoroughly and compile comprehensive reports detailing corrective measures.
  • Ensure proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and foster a robust safety culture across all project locations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and consultants on all safety-related matters.
  • Maintain accurate HSE documentation including permits, inspection reports, and statutory records.
  • Supervise and verify compliance involving work permits, lifting operations, working at heights, excavation, hot work, and confined space activities.
  • Assist management in attaining project-specific HSE objectives aiming for zero incidents.

Candidate Requirements

  • Possession of NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) is compulsory.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing Method Statements and Risk Assessments (MSRA) is required.
  • Additional certifications such as ADOSH or OSHAD will be advantageous.
  • At least 2 to 3 years of relevant HSE Officer experience within the UAE, focusing on building construction, fit-out, or contracting projects.
  • Comprehensive understanding of UAE construction safety regulations and recognized industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to conduct site inspections, incident investigations, and comprehensive safety audits.
  • Effective communication and report-writing abilities.
  • Capability to work autonomously while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
