About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Specialist to foster a strong culture of safety throughout a new deployment programme. You will be responsible for integrating safety considerations at every phase of planning and operational execution, ensuring full compliance with the company's Networks’ Safety Management Systems, policies, procedures, and standards.

This role involves working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment, partnering with civil, mechanical, electrical, and environmental experts to deliver comprehensive solutions for our clients. The teams support major public and private sector clients by shaping sustainable water, wastewater, and environmental infrastructure projects.

Our team culture is supportive and ambitious, built on collaboration. We encourage innovation, continuous learning, and professional growth, giving you the chance to enhance your skills while delivering meaningful projects that positively impact communities across Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Embed and promote a robust safety culture throughout the deployment programme.
  • Ensure all planning and operational activities comply with the company's safety management systems and standards.
  • Monitor, investigate, report, and follow up on safety-related issues such as incidents, audit findings, near misses, customer complaints, and safety notices.
  • Manage the tracking and logging of contractor incidents within the company’s Networks systems.
  • Conduct safety and quality management system audits for deployment contractors.
  • Review safety observations, assess internal and status reports, and evaluate contractor safety and quality KPIs.
  • Perform site visits to foster continuous improvement and promote safe working practices.

Your Impact

You will lead efforts to integrate safety seamlessly into all delivery stages, proactively identify risks, ensure compliance, and engage with both teams and contractors to prevent incidents and enhance safety results. Your auditing, insights, and on-site involvement will uphold high standards, influence behavior, and contribute to safe, sustainable, and quality infrastructure development benefiting communities.

Candidate Profile

  • Serve as a health and safety authority on a major national deployment programme.
  • Work jointly with internal departments and external contractors to ensure adherence to safety policies, systems, and legal requirements.
  • Maintain active site involvement through audits, visits, and performance reviews to encourage best practices.
  • Analyze safety data to detect trends and champion corrective and preventive actions for ongoing improvement.
  • Drive a positive safety culture by influencing behaviors, supporting initiatives, and challenging existing standards if necessary.

Why Join Us

  • People-first culture fostering inclusivity, collaboration, and recognition.
  • Industry recognition including top employer rankings and sustainability accolades.
  • Comprehensive training, professional subscription coverage, and structured career progression toward chartered status.
  • Supportive teamwork environment promoting personal and professional development.
  • Opportunity to contribute to the company's growth across Ireland.
  • Competitive remuneration package including enhanced pension, flexible leave options, private medical insurance, group income protection, and life assurance.
