HSE Officer

Position Overview

We are urgently seeking a Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHES) Officer with extensive experience working on projects related to QatarGas, QatarEnergy, or associated petrochemical industries. This full-time on-site role is based in Ras Laffan, Qatar, with an initial contract duration of six months and potential for extension. This opportunity is exclusively for local candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply 5 to 10+ years of HSE expertise within the Oil & Gas domain, specifically in brownfield projects across LNG plants, refineries, petrochemical, or gas processing units.
• Monitor and oversee critical high-risk operations, including hot work, confined space entry, working at heights, lifting operations, excavation, and chemical handling.
• Support and manage plant modifications, system revamps, tie-ins, shutdowns (Turnaround Activities), maintenance, and expansion initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with QatarEnergy and client-specific HSE procedures, including Permit to Work systems, simultaneous operations (SIMOPS), Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), hazard identification (HAZID), hazard and risk assessments (HIRA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and other risk management processes.
• Conduct gas testing, lead emergency response actions, and carry out investigations related to incidents for continuous safety improvements.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in QatarGas, QatarEnergy, QatarEnergy LNG, or similar petrochemical sectors is essential.
• Proven track record in brownfield environments within active LNG, refinery, or gas processing facilities.
• Hands-on knowledge of high-risk task monitoring and mitigation.
• Familiarity with industry-standard safety protocols, emergency procedures, and risk assessment methodologies.
