About the Role
We invite experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Inspectors to join ILF Consulting Engineers in Abu Dhabi, UAE, contributing to innovative water infrastructure projects. This role requires a proactive approach to safeguarding personnel, environment, and regulatory compliance while fostering a safety-conscious culture on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute safety policies in strict adherence to local legislation and recognized industry standards.
- Conduct thorough risk evaluations to detect workplace hazards and establish control strategies.
- Ensure all HSE regulations and environmental standards are consistently met and maintained on-site.
- Carry out periodic safety inspections and audits to assess and enhance safety protocols' effectiveness.
- Lead investigations into incidents to determine root causes and propose measures to prevent recurrence.
- Provide formal safety training covering operational equipment, emergency response, and safe working methodologies.
- Design and oversee emergency preparedness and response strategies tailored to site-specific risks.
- Keep precise and comprehensive documentation related to incidents, inspections, assessments, and training activities.
- Advance a culture of safety awareness and engagement among all employees through continual communication.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on HSE performance, incidents, and improvements to senior management.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of demonstrated experience in managing HSE initiatives and multiple safety concerns within engineering projects.
- Dedicated to ongoing enhancement of workplace health and safety standards.
- Proficient in articulating safety policies and procedures clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Skilled in workforce safety training and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Proactive leadership skills fostering a safety-first organizational culture.
- Previous HSE exposure in the UAE or broader Gulf region environments.
- Familiarity with operational challenges and risks associated with transmission networks, specifically TRANSCO/TAQA projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English.
Location
This is a site-based position located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
