Role Overview

We are searching for a proactive and knowledgeable HR & Recruiting Specialist to join our team. This crucial position centers on spearheading local recruitment efforts, supporting primary human resources functions, and ensuring smooth operation of HR procedures across Prairie Band, LLC and affiliated subsidiaries. The selected individual will manage the end-to-end recruitment cycle, aiming to establish strong local talent pools to fulfill organizational staffing demands. In addition, this role provides secondary support for benefits management and contributes to various HR functions to enhance employee experience while ensuring adherence to policies and regulations. Fostering talent attraction, engagement, retention, and a cooperative, inclusive culture are key responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a similar discipline preferred; equivalent education and related experience considered.
  • At least four years' recruitment experience demonstrating effective candidate sourcing and relationship management.
  • Robust understanding of employment legislation, employee relations, and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; PowerPoint skills advantageous.
  • Strong organizational capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic, multi-entity setting.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills with professionalism and clarity.
  • Strict confidentiality maintenance ability.
  • Physical capacity to perform tasks including prolonged sitting, lifting up to 25 pounds, and necessary mobility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment targeting local and regional hiring needs.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, craft job descriptions, and develop workforce plans.
  • Design and execute sourcing tactics using job portals, outreach programs, educational institutions, and local partnerships.
  • Conduct resume screening, interviews, and provide hiring recommendations ensuring quality hires.
  • Arrange interviews, communicate with applicants, and support the offer process.
  • Oversee job advertisements, applicant tracking, and pre-employment procedures including background and drug screenings.
  • Develop and sustain a strong talent pipeline, particularly for roles with high turnover or critical importance.
  • Represent the company at recruitment events, community gatherings, and job fairs to advance employer branding.
  • Assist in employee onboarding to ensure smooth integration, orientation, and completion of documentation.
  • Support managers during new hire assimilation and promote employee engagement.
  • Provide daily HR assistance to staff regarding policies, procedures, and HR programs.
  • Maintain precise employee information in HRIS and ATS, safeguarding data confidentiality.
  • Handle employee status updates, record-keeping, and related documentation.
  • Contribute to performance management initiatives and other HR projects as needed.
  • Backup support for benefits administration including enrollments, modifications, and employee queries.
  • Assist with open enrollment communication and activities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant federal, state, and tribal employment laws including Title 22 regulations.
  • Keep abreast of HR and recruitment industry trends and suggest enhancements for process efficiency.
  • Participate in development and implementation of HR policies and best practices.
  • Support special HR and talent management projects as required.
