Overview
Comfort Keepers is seeking a kind, dependable housekeeper to support clients in their homes in Oak Bay, British Columbia. This role is focused on non-medical in-home assistance that helps people stay comfortable, safe, and independent while preserving dignity and quality of life. The right person will be caring by nature, reliable, and comfortable working closely with clients in a home-care setting.
What the role involves
- Deliver non-medical support in line with each client’s individualized care plan
- Spend time with clients through conversation, reading, activities, and other forms of social interaction
- Help maintain emotional wellness and mental engagement
- Carry out light household tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, laundry, and bathroom cleaning
- Prepare meals
- Notice and communicate any changes in a client’s physical, emotional, or mental state
- Keep communication professional and clear with clients and internal team members
- Accurately complete required records and paperwork in a timely manner
- Take part in training sessions, staff meetings, and continued learning opportunities
- Follow confidentiality rules and operate equipment safely
- Handle other related duties as needed
What we’re looking for
- Minimum high school completion
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or a willingness to keep it current
- Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check
- Dependable transportation and a valid driver’s licence with insurance are an advantage
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and commitment to client care
- Comfort working independently with little direct supervision
- Good verbal and written communication skills, plus the ability to follow instructions
- Genuine interest in helping others, along with honesty and integrity
Work environment
This position involves regular movement and physical effort, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 12 kg / 25 lbs. Good hand strength and manual dexterity are needed. There may also be exposure to bloodborne pathogens or infectious diseases.
Compensation and benefits
