Role Overview
The Hotel Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning guest rooms efficiently and thoroughly while maintaining high housekeeping standards in a fast-moving environment. The role requires attention to detail, customer service awareness, and the ability to work weekends and holidays.
Primary Responsibilities
Key duties include preparing housekeeping carts with the needed supplies, switching off room electricity as required, stripping beds in vacant rooms, and sending soiled linens to laundry before cleaning begins. The role also involves cleaning and organizing carts, ensuring containers are properly labeled, and completing room cleaning within 25 minutes.
Additional tasks include getting the executive housekeeper’s approval on assignment sheets, vacuuming and sweeping floors and carpets, dusting room furnishings and fixtures, cleaning bathrooms and removing used amenities, checking rooms for safety concerns and equipment issues, and inspecting linens for damage.
The attendant must report lost items, maintenance concerns, and unusual room conditions to a supervisor, set up rooms for arriving guests, handle special requests such as newspaper delivery or spill cleanup, keep storage areas neat, restock carts, transfer linens from housekeeping carts to laundry carts, and record room status on assignment sheets. Other assigned duties may also be required.

Education and Experience
Prior housekeeping experience is required. Previous customer service experience is also expected. Strong attention to detail is important, and the candidate must be able to work on weekends and holidays when needed.
