Beerenberg Pty Ltd seeks an experienced Hospitality & Retail Centre (HRC) Venue Manager to lead and unify multiple facets of their iconic venue. This position involves overseeing the café, retail outlets, dairy, tourism activities, and events to ensure an outstanding and coherent visitor experience. Reporting to the General Manager - HRC, the Venue Manager will guide operations, develop a motivated team, and uphold the hallmark quality and authenticity associated with the Beerenberg brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership for daily operations and performance at the Hospitality & Retail Centre, ensuring all components—from café to events—operate seamlessly together.
- Mentor and grow leadership within the team, coaching HRC managers and supporting staff to build skills, confidence, and maintain a positive as well as motivating workplace culture.
- Focus relentlessly on guest satisfaction to guarantee each visitor enjoys excellent hospitality and leaves with not only fond memories but often additional purchases.
- Manage budgets, labor, inventory, supplier relations, and cost-control measures to achieve impressive commercial results without compromising service quality.
- Maintain the highest standards concerning workplace health and safety, food safety, and compliance, ensuring the venue remains safe, audit-ready, and efficient.
- Collaborate with the General Manager in turning strategic business goals into actionable plans, encouraging continuous improvement and operational innovation.
Candidate Profile
- Experienced hospitality professional with 3+ years in leadership roles overseeing complex, customer-focused environments; formal education in Hospitality, Business, or a related discipline is advantageous but hands-on leadership expertise is paramount.
- Ability to lead and develop a team of managers, fostering a culture where accountability and high performance thrive.
- Proficient in managing WHS, food safety protocols, and ensuring regulatory compliance, with experience maintaining audit readiness.
- Business-savvy with a track record of effectively managing budgets, labor forces, inventory, and operational costs while maintaining excellent guest experiences.
- Strong organizational skills and resilience under pressure, capable of managing peak trading periods, special events, and seasonal variability efficiently.
- Strategic thinker and effective communicator, skilled at converting business strategies into operational success and building productive relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.
- Passion for delivering guest experiences and leadership experience in hospitality, retail, tourism, or visitor attractions; appreciation for quality food, regional culture, and the ethos of Beerenberg.
