Job description
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair heavy off-road machinery such as loaders, material handlers, terminal tractors, and forklifts. This role is crucial for maintaining our stevedoring and logistics equipment functioning around the clock at our Tauranga Port site. The position follows a 4 on, 4 off PM roster, with work hours from 1600 to 0400.

Primary Duties
- Replacing and repairing parts in heavy machinery
- Servicing and routine maintenance of equipment
- Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in loaders, excavators, forklifts, and trucks
- Repair work on attachments such as grapples and log heads
Candidate Profile
- NQAQ Level 4 Automotive Heavy Engineering qualification or an equivalent certification is mandatory
- Proven hands-on experience with heavy vehicles and machinery maintenance and repair
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a small team
- A positive and proactive approach to all responsibilities
Additional Requirements
- Successful completion of pre-employment medical examination and drug screening
- Clearance from ACC & Ministry of Justice Criminal History Checks
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand is required
