Job description
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Chaplain to join the Spiritual Care and Wellbeing team supporting the Spiritual Care Lead for a 12-month period at NHS Golden Jubilee. This role focuses on providing spiritual and religious care in line with the organisation's Spiritual and Pastoral Care Policy, offering support to patients, visitors, staff, and volunteers irrespective of their faith, belief, or life stance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual, religious, and pastoral support to all patients, visitors, staff, and volunteers regardless of faith or life stance.
- Serve as a liaison to various community faith and belief groups, facilitating appropriate care for their members within healthcare settings.
- Contribute to integrating spiritual care into healthcare by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, supporting holistic care, and delivering training and support to staff and volunteers.
- Act as a chaplain during major incidents and provide leadership addressing staff-related issues and events requiring collective recognition and response.
Qualifications and Experience
- Registration with the Council of Professional Chaplains and Pastoral Carers (formerly United Kingdom Board of Healthcare Chaplains).
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field such as theology, religious studies, or philosophy.
- Comprehensive knowledge of diverse religions and faiths, with an ability to work effectively in interfaith and ecumenical contexts.
- Experience leading and conducting recognised religious ceremonies and practices, preferably in healthcare environments.
- Skills in delivering presentations, teaching, or facilitating group sessions.
