Job description

Role overview

This is a 12-month opportunity for an experienced chaplain to join the Spiritual Care and Wellbeing team at NHS Golden Jubilee. The role supports the Spiritual Care Lead in developing and delivering spiritual care and wellbeing services across the organisation.

The postholder will provide spiritual care in line with the Spiritual and Pastoral Care Policy, which covers both religious and non-religious pastoral support for patients, visitors, staff and volunteers, regardless of faith, belief or life stance.

Key duties

  • Offer suitable spiritual, religious and pastoral support to patients, visitors, staff and volunteers, whatever their faith background or personal beliefs.
  • Serve as a connection point with different community faith and belief groups, helping them support their members while receiving healthcare.
  • Help embed spiritual care within healthcare delivery by working with the multidisciplinary team to support holistic care, and by providing training and guidance to staff and volunteers.
  • Act as chaplain to NHS Golden Jubilee by contributing to the major incident plan and providing leadership when staff issues or events need shared recognition and action.

Professional profile

The successful candidate will be expected to bring experience and knowledge that support work in a diverse, ecumenical and interfaith environment. The role also includes responsibilities linked to ceremonial practice, teaching, presentations and group facilitation.
