Role overview
This part-time opportunity is for 30 hours each week in the Emergency Department, with long-day and night working patterns. Shifts are 11.5 hours each. The team is looking for someone enthusiastic and driven who can help care for a mixed patient group and support the smooth day-to-day running of the department.
Main purpose of the post
You will support doctors and registered nursing and midwifery staff in delivering personalised, evidence-based care. The post contributes to a positive patient experience and helps the department function efficiently while making good use of available resources.
What the role involves
The work is varied and includes direct patient support, hands-on care, taking blood samples, and chaperoning. There are also clerical duties, especially during night shifts. This is a rotational post with changing shifts, all of which are 11.5 hours long and worked as either long days or nights.
Team working and culture
You will work as part of a wider team and help maintain care standards at the highest level. The successful candidate will act as a role model for the 6 C’s of compassionate care: Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Commitment and Courage. You may also be asked to supervise and teach non-registered staff and help new starters with support from senior team members.
