About the Role

Join the Children's Services team of a nationally recognized organization, ranked 2nd in "Ireland's Best Employer 2025." We seek dedicated Healthcare Assistants (Personal Assistants) to support children in Banteer, County Cork. This part-time position entails 6 hours of work weekly, specifically every Saturday from 9am to 3pm, with potential for increased hours for suitable candidates.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly salary ranges between €16.22 and €18.03 depending on experience.
  • Increased rates apply for early morning (before 8am) and late evening (after 8pm) shifts at €19.23 per hour.
  • Sunday shifts paid at €23.00 per hour.
  • Public holidays compensated at €30.80 per hour.
  • Paid mileage allowance between client visits.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Facilitate members in gaining maximum independence across daily living areas by assisting with personal care, household tasks, social and educational activities, travel, and companionship.
  • Service delivery occurs within members’ homes and community settings.
  • Engage closely with other home carers and maintain communication with the ALS Coordinator or scheduling personnel to ensure effective coordination.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Possession of QQI Level 5 or higher in Childcare is preferred; alternatively, QQI Level 5 qualification in healthcare disciplines including Human Growth and Development is acceptable.
  • Prior experience in a caregiving role is mandatory.
  • Experience working with individuals who have Acquired Brain Injury is advantageous.
  • Reliability, trustworthiness, and strict adherence to confidentiality are essential.
  • Strong communication abilities in both spoken and written English.
  • Access to a personal vehicle is preferable but not mandatory.
