Your Role as a Healthcare Assistant
In this role based in Athy, you will assist clients in their own homes to maintain independence, safety, and dignity. Supported continuously by experienced Clinical Nurse Managers and 24/7 clinical backup, you will provide compassionate day-to-day care tailored to individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care including washing, dressing, mobility, and toileting
- Prepare meals and perform light household tasks
- Prompt and supervise medication intake
- Offer companionship and emotional support
- Support clients experiencing Dementia, Alzheimer's, and those with high-dependency needs
- Adhere to individualized Care Plans and document care activities
- Communicate any concerns to the care management team promptly
Requirements
- QQI Level 5 certification including Care Skills and Care of the Older Person
- At least one year of experience in a healthcare environment
- Current Garda Vetting and International Police Clearance if applicable
- Fit-to-work certificate or willingness to obtain one
- Valid full driver's licence with access to a personal vehicle
- Competent with Google Maps for navigation purposes
- Effective communication skills in English
- Demonstrated caring, dependable, and respectful attitude
- Full legal eligibility to work in Ireland
