Job description

Position Summary

This role is based within the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Laboratory Systems and Response, located in Atlanta, Georgia. The recruitment will conclude either when 75 applications are received or the application deadline is reached, whichever happens first.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and resolve technical issues related to public health laboratory data exchanges.
  • Work collaboratively with private sector and public health organizations to enhance procedures for electronic public health data exchange.
  • Provide specialized technical support to national, state, and local health agencies, including public health laboratories and partners.
  • Create and present written and oral communications tailored to diverse audiences.

Requirements

  • Possess a bachelor's or advanced degree in a medical, health sciences, or allied sciences field from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time of graduation.
  • Have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 federal grade level, including expertise in public health laboratory data exchange, collaborative process improvements, technical assistance to health agencies, and effective communication skills.
  • Provide precise documentation of experience, including exact employment dates and hours worked per week if part-time.
  • Include appropriate official evidence for experience outside of the applicant's official federal series or grade level, such as signed memoranda or official personnel records, to be considered for qualification.
  • Volunteer experience contributing relevant skills will be credited if properly documented with dates and hours worked.
