Job description
Overview
We are looking for a committed and vigilant Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Supervisor to manage health and safety compliance on our construction site in Singapore. This role involves maintaining a secure working environment, aiding site teams with risk control, and ensuring all regulatory and organizational safety standards are upheld throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in creating, executing, and updating the project’s HSE plans, policies, and protocols.
- Perform ongoing site inspections and audits to detect hazards, unsafe practices, and any violations.
- Supervise the proper use of personal protective equipment and enforce safe operational methods.
- Prepare and review Risk Assessments, Job Hazard Analyses, and Method Statements.
- Support and monitor the Permit-to-Work system for tasks involving high risk.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore’s Workplace Safety and Health laws and related standards.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, conducting root cause analyses and tracking corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed HSE documentation, including reports and incident logs.
- Promptly escalate significant safety concerns to project leadership.
- Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and induction training for new and existing workers.
- Foster a positive safety culture by encouraging hazard reporting and safe behavior on site.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, clients, and authorities on all HSE aspects.
- Oversee environmental management including waste control, noise, dust, and pollution mitigation.
- Support sustainable practices and ensure adherence to environmental regulations and project guidelines.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Workplace Safety & Health, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
- Registration as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer preferred but may depend on seniority requirements.
- At least 2 to 5 years’ experience in HSE roles within construction or engineering projects based in Singapore.
- Thorough understanding of local WSH Act and associated regulatory frameworks.
- Effective communication, reporting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong ability to work autonomously and efficiently manage safety concerns in a dynamic project environment.
