Join our team at ALS Oil & Lubricants in Canning Vale, Western Australia, where we specialize in ensuring optimal fluid health for client equipment through precise analysis.

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to support our night shift operations. This full-time position involves working 8-hour shifts from 11 PM to 7 AM, Monday through Friday, within a small, NATA-accredited oil analysis laboratory team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately label and unpack incoming samples.
  • Register samples systematically within laboratory systems.
  • Conduct routine testing procedures including ICP-OES, FTIR, viscosity measurement, particle counting, color analysis, acid-base titrations, and Karl Fischer titrations.
  • Perform basic calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Collaborate effectively with laboratory technicians, technical support, and leadership teams.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment through housekeeping tasks.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Handle and move sample racks and boxes weighing between 5 to 10 kilograms.

Candidate Profile

  • A cooperative team player who thrives in collaborative settings.
  • Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced, pressure-involving environment.
  • Strong communicator with keen attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime as needed.
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Possession of a Certificate IV or Diploma in Laboratory Techniques or an equivalent qualification is beneficial.
