About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Health Safety Environment (HSE) Advisor to lead and embed a robust safety-first culture within regional Western Australia civil construction projects, particularly involving road and bridge work. This role demands an experienced professional who enjoys hands-on fieldwork, excels at fostering strong team relationships, and is committed to enhancing health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with employees, contractors, and client representatives.
- Support the HSEQ Manager in ensuring adherence to Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, Civil Construction Service standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
- Ensure compliance with Main Roads WA (MRWA) and Tier 1 Contractor requirements by conducting audits, investigations, and safety assessments.
- Lead the delivery of safety programs, including site inductions, toolbox talks, pre-start meetings, and safety awareness initiatives.
- Carry out site inspections, risk assessments, and contractor performance reviews.
- Investigate incidents and hazards, document findings using INX software, and oversee corrective action implementation.
- Operate and monitor plant and equipment to verify safety compliance on site.
- Drive continuous safety performance improvements across multiple operational sites.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous HSE experience on Main Roads WA and civil construction projects, especially road and bridge construction.
- 3 to 5 or more years working in a HSE-related role within civil construction.
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, or higher qualifications.
- Valid C Class driver's license; possession of HR driver's license is preferred.
- White Card certification for construction site safety.
- Demonstrated strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management practices, and behavioural safety principles.
- Possesses auditing expertise within occupational health and safety management systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with experience creating management reports.
- Australian citizen or permanent resident eligible to work in Australia.
Desirable Additional Skills
- Licenses or tickets for plant operation and earthmoving machinery.
- HR Driver's License.
- Certifications in First Aid, Traffic Management, or Training & Assessment.

Additional Information
Location: Perth, Western Australia, with DIDO regional site travel.
Roster: 10 days on, 4 days off.
Salary: $120,000 to $150,000 annually plus superannuation and a worksite vehicle.
