  • Ensure compliance with Main Roads WA (MRWA) and Tier 1 Contractor requirements by conducting audits, investigations, and safety assessments.
  • Lead the delivery of safety programs, including site inductions, toolbox talks, pre-start meetings, and safety awareness initiatives.
  • Carry out site inspections, risk assessments, and contractor performance reviews.
  • Investigate incidents and hazards, document findings using INX software, and oversee corrective action implementation.
  • Operate and monitor plant and equipment to verify safety compliance on site.
  • Drive continuous safety performance improvements across multiple operational sites.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous HSE experience on Main Roads WA and civil construction projects, especially road and bridge construction.
  • 3 to 5 or more years working in a HSE-related role within civil construction.
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, or higher qualifications.
  • Valid C Class driver's license; possession of HR driver's license is preferred.
  • White Card certification for construction site safety.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management practices, and behavioural safety principles.
  • Possesses auditing expertise within occupational health and safety management systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with experience creating management reports.
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident eligible to work in Australia.

Desirable Additional Skills

  • Licenses or tickets for plant operation and earthmoving machinery.
  • HR Driver's License.
  • Certifications in First Aid, Traffic Management, or Training & Assessment.

Benefits and Perks

  • A varied, practical role combining site-based activities, operational tasks, and leadership duties.
  • Strong backing from an experienced HSEQ team.
  • Opportunity to work across regional Western Australia projects.
  • Employment with a well-established and stable company.
  • Relocation assistance available for qualified applicants across Australia.
