Role Overview
The Health & Safety Coordinator plays a vital role in aiding the creation, execution, and ongoing enhancement of occupational health and safety initiatives for the City. The position emphasizes compliance with relevant health and safety laws while promoting a culture centered on prevention, mitigation of risks, and overall employee wellness.
Key Responsibilities
Operating within a multi-location, project-oriented, and unionized environment, the Coordinator collaborates extensively with People Services, City management, employees, various Joint Health & Safety Committees, contractors, and external partners. Their efforts focus on embedding effective safety strategies, overseeing incident and claim management, and delivering meaningful training and safety programs throughout the organization.
