Job description

Position Overview

This full-time role is primarily responsible for managing electronic medical records and issuing vital documents such as birth and death certificates, ensuring the confidentiality of patient information. Additionally, the position includes providing reception and front desk support to the agency, requiring proficiency in both in-person and telephone interactions with clients.

Location and Eligibility

The position is located at the Maryland Department of Health St. Mary's County Health Department, 21580 Peabody Street, Leonardtown, MD 20650. This recruitment is exclusively for current employees of the MDH St. Mary's County Health Department.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate from an accredited institution is required.
  • A minimum of one year experience in compiling and maintaining health records is mandatory.
  • As an alternative, candidates may substitute additional years of relevant work experience for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Military service as a non-commissioned officer in Medical Record classifications, Patient Administration Specialists, or Health Services Management roles may also substitute for the required experience equivalently.

Skills and Special Requirements

  • Applicants must be able to type at least 20 words per minute.
