Job description

About the Role

This position is designed for public health specialists who want to apply graduate-level expertise to AI training. The work centers on helping leading AI research teams improve the accuracy, safety, and reliability of models that handle health-related topics.

As a Health Policy & Management AI Data Trainer, you will assess how well AI systems understand population health, epidemiology, biostatistics, and health policy. The role is fully remote, flexible, and contractual, allowing you to contribute on a schedule that works for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build advanced public health scenarios, including outbreak modelling, health equity evaluations, and interpretation exercises based on clinical trial statistics, to stress-test AI reasoning.
  • Write reference answers that are thorough, accurate, and informed by peer-reviewed literature, epidemiological evidence, and trusted guidance from bodies such as the CDC and WHO.
  • Review AI-generated health guidance and policy suggestions for correctness, ethical soundness, and bias, while flagging weak logic, misinformation, or missing reasoning.
  • Provide structured expert feedback that helps models better separate correlation from causation, explain health risks clearly, and account for the needs of diverse communities.
  • Make sure outputs align with current scientific consensus and accepted ethical standards in public health.

Candidate Profile

  • You hold an MPH, MSPH, or another closely related graduate qualification.
  • You have a strong grounding in at least two of the following areas: epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, or health policy.
  • You can turn complex health data into writing that is clear, accurate, and culturally appropriate.
  • You pay close attention to statistical significance, source citations, and the reasoning behind health interventions.
  • You are dependable, self-directed, and comfortable working independently without a fixed schedule.
  • Previous AI experience is not required.

Preferred Background

  • Prior exposure to data annotation, review workflows, or evaluation frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of analytical tools such as R, SAS, or Stata.
  • Experience in health communication, clinical research coordination, or public health surveillance.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Collaborate with advanced large language models at the cutting edge of AI development.
  • Enjoy a fully remote, asynchronous setup with complete flexibility over when and where you work.
  • Commit between 10 and 40 hours per week, depending on your availability.
  • Benefit from the independence and flexibility typical of contractor work, with opportunities that can reach across regions.
  • Contribute to work that improves AI safety and accuracy in sensitive health settings.
  • There may be options for contract extensions and additional projects over time.

Work Arrangement

This is a remote contract role based in the United States. The weekly time commitment is flexible, ranging from 10 to 40 hours. The role is asynchronous, so you can manage your schedule independently.
