Role Overview

This full-time, on-site Health and Safety Officer position located in Donegal involves supporting the creation, implementation, and oversight of health and safety protocols across construction sites. Daily responsibilities include performing site inspections, conducting risk assessments and safety audits, identifying potential hazards, and proposing corrective measures. The role also entails delivering safety inductions and toolbox talks, managing safety documentation and incident reporting, and guaranteeing adherence to relevant company policies and health and safety legislation.

The officer will work closely with site management and project teams to encourage a proactive safety environment and continual improvement of safety procedures in the workplace.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated expertise in health and workplace safety, particularly within construction or comparable industries.
  • Solid understanding of Occupational Health and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) principles, including risk evaluation and hazard mitigation.
  • Possession of NEBOSH or an equivalent health and safety certification, alongside familiarity with applicable Irish and EU regulations.
  • Effective communication and instructional abilities to conduct safety briefings and collaborate with a diverse range of site personnel.
  • Strong organizational competencies for incident investigation, record maintenance, and proficiency with basic office software tools.
  • Additional advantages include background in construction health and safety, a relevant diploma or degree, and a valid driver’s license for site visits.
