About the Role

Become a vital member of a dedicated team committed to enhancing staff support by delivering exceptional ambulance and emergency care services. We seek an experienced Health and Safety Advisor (Injury Management) who will act as a subject matter expert, providing strategic advice, coaching, and collaboration for sustainable rehabilitation and return-to-work results. This position supports frontline and support staff throughout the Metro South Region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead workplace rehabilitation efforts to promote employee health and serve as a Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator, upholding stringent information privacy and confidentiality standards.
  • Apply thorough knowledge of Queensland's workplace health and safety and workers' compensation legislation to develop and implement effective WHS systems and risk management strategies.
  • Utilize strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage and advise diverse stakeholders within a 24/7 statewide ambulance service environment.
  • Deliver coaching, training sessions, and informative presentations to management, supervisors, and staff concerning health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Analyze and manage performance data and reporting mechanisms to detect patterns and challenges, driving continuous improvements.
  • Collaborate with managers and supervisors to implement practical and efficient WHS management solutions across various workplace health and safety operations and risks.

Candidate Attributes and Additional Requirements

  • Vocational, tertiary, or postgraduate qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety or Rehabilitation and Return to Work are preferred but not mandatory.
  • The selected candidate should be prepared to undertake the role of Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator and obtain relevant qualifications if necessary.
  • Willingness to travel for official duties; possession of a C class driver's license may be required.
