Job description
Role Overview
Dornan Engineering Group, a prominent international engineering contractor with operations across Europe, UK & Ireland, seeks a Health and Safety Advisor. The position is based at our Athlone site initially with the potential to relocate to a European project, particularly within the pharmaceutical sector. This role involves actively overseeing Dornan's health and safety practices, ensuring adherence to company safety policies and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in creating safety documentation and conduct regular site audits and inspections, ensuring corrective actions comply with company policies.
- Deliver site inductions and advise on personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance while verifying subcontractor safety documentation aligns with legislation and industry best practices.
- Support project teams by preparing method statements, maintaining statutory inspection records, and aiding in incident and accident investigations.
- Organize Toolbox Talks, manage site emergency plans, provide guidance on first aid and training needs, and contribute to assembling the final safety file for project completion.
- Compile safety reports, foster a strong safety culture throughout site activities, and perform additional tasks as assigned by senior management.
Candidate Profile
- Proven ability to effectively prioritise multiple tasks.
- Self-aware with recognition of personal strengths and areas for improvement; committed to continuous professional development.
- Willingness to take responsibility and accountability.
- Holding a Health & Safety Diploma or higher qualification.
- Minimum of three years of relevant health and safety experience.
