About the Role
Sport at Warwick University engages over 12,000 students annually. The Head of Student Sport is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the student-related aspects of the Active Wellness & Sports Strategy. This role encompasses managing the Sports Delivery team, driving participation and high-performance sport initiatives, and enhancing the student sport experience both on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Sports Delivery team to achieve participation and performance goals.
- Implement Warwick's Active Wellness & Sports Strategy focusing on student engagement.
- Prepare business cases and funding proposals, securing external investments.
- Manage technologies and systems that support sports delivery to boost efficiency and improve user experience.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments and external partners.
- Support fundraising, sponsorship, and crowdfunding efforts for student sports clubs.
- Promote the Team Warwick brand throughout all program delivery.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrable leadership experience with success in inspiring and managing high-performing teams.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to produce evidence-based business cases and funding requests.
- In-depth knowledge of sports development best practices, regulations, and legal requirements.
- Effective stakeholder management and influence within complex organizational settings.
- Experience in budget management, resource allocation, and operational oversight in decentralized contexts.
- Excellent skills in organization, report writing, and presentations.
- Experience within higher education and evidence of ongoing professional development are advantageous.
