Role Overview
The Head of Sales for Extremities and Trauma (E&T) in Australia holds a pivotal senior leadership position charged with propelling nationwide growth and optimizing the performance of Arthrex's E&T portfolio. This leader oversees a national cadre of Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), who manage the execution and achievements of Sales Representatives across the country. The role's primary accountability centers on flawless sales execution, clinical sales expertise, and achieving targeted revenue goals for the E&T segment.
Main Responsibilities
- Guide and develop a national team of Regional Sales Managers to consistently meet or surpass business targets and strategic initiatives.
- Devise and implement commercial strategies at short, medium, and long-term horizons in close collaboration with commercial leadership and product marketing counterparts.
- Own the Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibilities, managing revenue, margins, and operating expenses to align with the approved budget.
- Collaborate seamlessly with operations leadership to oversee governance and ensure the availability of consignment and loan kit inventory.
- Enforce disciplined and uniform usage of CRM systems within the E&T sales teams for pipeline and performance management.
- Engage cross-functionally with marketing, medical education, and operations to execute impactful campaigns and education initiatives aligned with corporate strategy.
- Maintain an active presence in the field, working alongside RSMs and Sales Representatives to coach, support leadership development, and reinforce consistent sales discipline.
Candidate Requirements and Experience
- Proven track record leading sales teams including managers and representatives within Extremities, Trauma, or related orthopedic portfolios.
- Preferred bachelor's degree in Business, Science, Health, or a related field.
- Demonstrated multi-year success in consistently achieving or exceeding sales budgets.
- Experience managing remote, geographically diverse teams across different regions and healthcare environments.
- Expertise in P&L management including budgeting, forecasting, and performance governance.
- Strong strategic and commercial planning skills capable of translating market data into actionable business strategies.
- Proficiency in identifying and nurturing talent with established succession planning and leadership pipeline development.
- Advanced competencies in pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM-driven performance tracking.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with credibility among surgeons, hospital staff, operational and financial leaders.
- Resilience and high personal motivation in a performance-centric environment.
- Willingness to undertake extensive travel across Australia and work flexible hours to meet business demands.
