Job description

About KIVARI

KIVARI is a Sydney fashion label established in 2014. The brand is defined by a balance of style, strength, and confidence, with every collection created by its Australian design team and produced with sustainability in mind using materials sourced globally. Its timeless aesthetic draws on travel and a strong connection to the ocean.

The company places community at the centre of its culture, prioritises quality, and aims to foster a supportive environment where creativity can flourish. As the business expands internationally, this role offers the chance to grow alongside the brand.

About the Role

KIVARI is looking for a commercially focused retail leader who can thrive in a dynamic, brand-driven setting. The right person will bring a strong growth mindset, a passion for premium customer experiences, and a proven history of leading teams to high performance. This position calls for someone who can protect premium brand standards while also delivering clear sales results and helping shape the next stage of the brand’s development.

The ideal candidate is an effective communicator and relationship builder who is equally comfortable discussing strategy with senior stakeholders and spending time on the boutique floor. Adaptability, energy, and comfort with change are important, as this role will play a key part in an exciting new phase for the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and guide Area Managers, keeping regional priorities aligned with company objectives, while also supporting Boutique Managers and their teams to improve performance.
  • Review market movements and customer behaviour to uncover opportunities for growth, innovation, and stronger brand differentiation.
  • Own the launch of new stores and broader market expansion initiatives, coordinating with different teams to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Build and manage the retail calendar, making sure travel plans and operational activity align with the trade calendar.
  • Increase sales performance across all boutiques, track results against budget and year-over-year performance, and work with Area Managers to assess store metrics.
  • Put improvement plans in place for stores that are under target, while managing budgets, profit and loss, and cost controls to support financial outcomes and sustainable growth.
  • Make sure all locations follow visual merchandising standards and brand presentation expectations, and carry out monthly store audits.
  • Champion KIVARI’s culture and values across the broader team, leading by example and helping others do the same.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior retail leadership position.
  • Background in womenswear fashion retail is required.
  • Experience growing the retail presence of a fashion brand will be strongly valued.
  • A leadership style that inspires others and supports the development of high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of premium customer service and brand-led storytelling.
  • Proven ability to improve brand performance and grow sales across multiple locations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel as needed and remain flexible in a fast-moving retail environment.
  • Qualifications in Business, Fashion, or a related area are considered an advantage.

What We Offer

  • A creative and collaborative workplace where innovation and teamwork are valued.
  • Opportunities to grow your skills and develop your career as the brand continues to expand.
  • The chance to contribute to a company committed to sustainability and positive community and environmental impact.
  • A competitive salary and benefits package, including a generous clothing allowance.
