Head of Research and Development - Business Line Agriculture

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, business-minded leader to head the Research and Development division of Business Line Agriculture at JOST World. This role offers the exciting opportunity to shape future agricultural technology and foster innovation, quality, and competitive product development on a global scale.

As the leader of Agriculture R&D, you will oversee operations covering two brands and seven sites across four continents. Working closely with business management, product management, sales, operations, and other stakeholders, you will ensure that R&D activities align with strategic business goals and satisfy customer and regulatory requirements. You will also be a vital member of the Business Line Agriculture management team reporting directly to the Head of Business Line Agriculture and Vice President of Product Development.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide and develop the R&D organization by establishing strong leadership capabilities, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
• Ensure successful delivery of the product roadmap in partnership with Product Management, focusing on clear R&D execution and technology contribution.
• Promote innovation and continuous product development improvements throughout the full lifecycle.
• Optimize R&D processes, methodologies, and resource usage across multiple sites for maximum efficiency.
• Maintain high standards for quality, compliance, validation, documentation, and product safety.
• Collaborate effectively with other business functions and global teams to develop scalable, competitive solutions.
• Oversee budgeting, prioritization, and resource allocation to meet strategic and operational goals.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• A university degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Substantial leadership experience within engineering or R&D, ideally in agriculture, mobile machinery, automotive, or related technical sectors.
• Experience in managing managers, specialists, or cross-functional engineering teams.
• Deep knowledge of product development, project portfolio management, and technology roadmaps.
• Demonstrated ability to implement structural changes and improve operational workflows within an international company.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
