Job description

Role Overview

SBH Fashion is looking for a Head of Production to oversee production end to end across men’s and women’s product lines. This leader will guide the process from development handoff through bulk shipment, with a focus on meeting delivery deadlines, controlling costs, and protecting product quality. The role works closely with design and product development to bring collections to life at a high standard.

The right candidate will have extensive experience in global sourcing and manufacturing, strong costing and negotiation skills, and the confidence to serve as a direct partner to the creative team. Success in this role depends on balancing the brand’s design vision with disciplined execution, while staying highly proactive and solution-oriented across complex calendars, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Production and Calendar Management

  • Take ownership of the full production timeline across all categories and ensure it stays aligned with design, development, sales, and delivery goals.
  • Keep internal teams and external partners moving against agreed deadlines.
  • Spot risks early and put practical fixes in place to protect on-time delivery.

Partnership with Product Development

  • Work in close collaboration with Design and Product Development to make sure ideas are translated efficiently and in a cost-conscious way.
  • Contribute early feedback on feasibility, construction methods, and cost impact during development.
  • Drive clarity and timely decision-making so development and production remain on track.

Sourcing and Vendor Management

  • Lead sourcing strategy across global vendors for all categories.
  • Assess vendor performance based on quality, pricing, turnaround time, and reliability.
  • Continuously look for new sourcing options that can strengthen capabilities and improve margins.

Costing, Negotiation, and Margin Control

  • Own the costing workflow from the development stage through final production.
  • Handle complex negotiations covering pricing, liabilities, and capacity commitments.
  • Find cost efficiencies without sacrificing design intent or product standards.
  • Maintain strong long-term supplier relationships while negotiating effectively.

Manufacturing Oversight

  • Monitor bulk production to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance with brand requirements.
  • Resolve production issues quickly and with workable solutions.
  • Track factory capacity planning and allocation across seasons.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as a respected partner to Creative, Development, Merchandising, and Production teams.
  • Support the creative direction while remaining firm on deadlines, cost targets, and production feasibility.
  • Keep teams accountable to milestones and encourage a collaborative, solution-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of apparel production experience, with deep knowledge of cut-and-sew, knitwear, and woven product categories.
  • Proven leadership background managing production teams and international vendor networks.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, manufacturing methods, and costing.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and protect margins.
  • Solid command of production calendars and critical path management.
  • Experience in a contemporary or premium apparel brand, ideally in a founder-led or design-led environment.

Core Competencies

  • Strong problem-solving ability and a highly proactive mindset.
  • Advanced negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes and build partnerships.
  • Excellent organization and deadline management across multiple priorities.
  • Comfort working collaboratively with creative teams while maintaining accountability.
  • Strategic thinking paired with a hands-on approach to execution.

Compensation

The annual salary for this position is listed at $160,000 to $175,000.
